At Port Eliot in Cornwall last summer

At Port Eliot in Cornwall last summer, there were so many Barbours on narrow, youthful backs, I thought I was at a three-day equestrian event rather than a literary festival. The most popular Barbour is the International, followed by the Liddesdale, which starts at 80 and rises to 150 for one with down quilting. Sales of Barbour coats for women were up a staggering 400 per cent in 2011 compared with 2010.Woolrich Jackets Shop UK
Barbour, though, has not remotely 'done a Burberry', refusing wholeheartedly to cross over into high fashion. It is little changed, merely adding a few fashionable colours, such as pink, emerald and blue for summer 2012, say, or a small collaboration with designer Alice Temperley.
Neither has it courted celebrity, stating proudly it even insists members of the Royal Family pay full price, although when Helen Mirren wore a green Bedale to portray the Queen in the 2006 film, sales of that particular style tripled.
Pringle is yet another 'heritage' brand that is seeing sales soar. Founded in 1815 and still manufactured in Hawick, in the Borders, it not only invented the twinset — a Great British Posh Staple (remember it as worn by Joan Fontaine in the 1940 film of Rebecca?) — but was way ahead of its time, being one of the first brands to court celebrities,Online Belstaff Outlet Shop Sale including British actress Margaret Lockwood, and use them in its advertisements back in the Forties and Fifties.
Hunter wellies, too, despite the price tag of 79 for the Original Green (a style that first saw the light of day in 1956), have seen sales soar (up 30 per cent in 2011 in Selfridges alone). In February, during New York Fashion Week, I lost count of the number of fashionistas in Hunter wellies trudging through the slush.
While I now live on Exmoor, canada goose jacket discount deep in green Barbour-wearing country, I never dress 'posh'. I find Barbours simply not warm enough for the reality of looking after horses in winter, while a flat cap might make me look as though I condone shooting and fishing, which I most certainly do not. I tend to dress in a much more eccentric and townie fashion, with Prada jodhpurs, a Helmut Lang frock coat for walking my four dogs, and a Topshop parka for mucking out.
I still fit into a Harry Hall tweed hacking jacket I've owned since a child, but it's too precious to be covered in the green slobber from the horses.
The adoption of the uniform of the posh by fashion style-setters and pop stars — add-ons include tweed flat caps from Bates on Jermyn Street, Harris Tweed jackets, Hilditch & Key shirts, Swaine Adeney Brigg jodhpurs and hand-made brogues from John Lobb at almost 3,000 a pair (I love the fact Lobb still sells 'felt bath slippers') — is not just about the economy, or buying less, but buying better.Fjallraven Expedition Parka Jacket
It is also because posh pretenders have a new poster girl in the Duchess of Cambridge, who has shown how the middle-class can transcend their roots. But, unfortunately, even Kate has not managed to get the look quite right, largely because she does not have the correct attitude.
While Diana was truly aristocratic — and when first in the public eye stuck to her Sloane Ranger uniform of white collar peeping over her sweater, an Alice band, a string of pearls and navy courts — Kate has verged too close to the High Street and high fashion.
She has a careful,Online Canada Goose Outlet Shop uptight air and could never sling a Barbour over her shoulders with quite the right nonchalance, nor leave home with bed-head hair. I doubt her car ever has rubbish in the footwell, but rather something small and green and smelling of pine.
And I still don't understand how posh people manage to preserve their clothes so impeccably: I had my eye on my mum's embellished, silk-lined Pringle cardi, but was disappointed to find it had been ravaged by moths.
Even grubs privileged enough to inhabit the netherworld of the posh turn out to be very different indeed.

Tech's Toughness Tops Terps

Raise your hand if you figured when you woke up Saturday that the men's basketball team would be the only Georgia Tech squad to win later that day.

Go figure again.

There's probably no need to tell anybody to put their hand down because head coach Brian Gregory's team has scuffled -- at times painfully -- in his first season in charge, and: a.) the baseball team was to meet an Ohio State squad it had dominated on Friday, and b.) the softball team . . . nobody predicted the No. 17 squad in the nation would lose a pair to stretch a losing streak to five games.

If your hand is up, though,Our cheap canada goose generally gives all variations of lower price canada goose parka, welcome to the margins -- where Gregory's guys have lived for a couple months.

The Tech coach has said repeatedly this season that his squad's margin for error is slim, and with leading scorer Glen Rice Jr. still suspended and Nate Hicks' battle with mononucleosis leaving the Jackets with only one reserve big man (Julian Royal) to spell starters Kammeon Holsey and Daniel Miller, slim has turned to a razor.

That's why the Tech starters all played at least 31 minutes against Maryland, against whom the Jackets could only win one of two ways: have everybody perform at or very near peak capacity, or have a couple players turn in career days.

As it turned out,This is often not canada goose jacket discount can be cool and even brilliant. the Jackets turned the razor on the Terrapins in a 63-61 in which both dreams came true and Tech looked every bit like a legitimate basketball team. Kammeon Holsey and Mfon Udofia turned in the career efforts, and every single player turned in a bona fide effort.
Oh, and the Jackets were the steelier team.

"I'm happy for the players," Gregory said. "I think we did a good job in toughness, mentally and physically. Down nine in the second half,Search for moncler outerwear in Jewellery for Lucknow. we could have backed down right there and didn't."

Holsey's had his moments this season, and it's clear the sophomore from The Sticks (Sparta, Ga., hometown of former NBA players Horace and Harvey Grant), can score around the basket,Buying a authentic canada goose coat from seller in another country. but if you predicted he'd give the Jackets the first double-double of his career with 16 points and a career-high 10 rebounds, your hand is probably still up.

Then, there's Udofia. He's struggled mightily to score at times this season as Gregory is asking him to go about his game in ways very different than those to which he is accustomed.

His seven points Saturday were not exactly Chris Paul-in-a-bottle although he made the biggest offensive play of the game when his three-point play with 1:43 left in Philips Arena gave the Jackets lead lead (58-56) once and for all.

Udofia's primary responsibility Saturday, however, was not to tickle the nets so much as it was to run the show -- which he did by assisting on six of Tech's first eight baskets on the way to a career-high nine dimes -- and harass Terrell Stoglin.

This Stoglin fellow, a 6-foot-1 bundle of energy by way of Tucson, Ariz., is a load.

He leads the ACC in scoring still, with an average of 21.1 points, and is fast striking his name into Maryland annals in all kinds of ways. There are not even two dozen Division I players in all of college basketball averaging 20 or more points, and he's doing it in the ACC.

Stoglin gave the Terrapins a 56-55 lead on a lightning-quick drive through traffic with 2:03 left in Saturday's game, and he led Maryland with 18 points.

But Udofia -- with help from his 'mates -- made Stoglin a volume shooter in the process. He tried to score 17 times, canada goose winter jackets Shirts at low prices! but succeeded only five. Seven of his points came at the free throw line.

That, folks, is work. It was also exactly what Gregory asked of his point guard.

"Coach threw a challenge out there," Udofia said. "It was a deal where you thought, 'Not tonight.' "

It was not Stoglin's night, er, day. It was Udofia's: "I think Mfon . . . nine assists, three turnovers and the job he did on Stoglin . . . I think maybe he's playing as well as he has played in his career."

Bob Hunter commentary: Reds give their fans reason for optimism

A guy in a Blue Jackets jersey and a Reds cap in the grocery store caught my eye on Sunday. He wore an infectious smile.

Maybe it sprang from a big sale on orange juice — he made a fast left into the frozen-food aisle and was gone like a jet in the Bermuda Triangle without offering any clues — but it struck me that if he were smiling about one team or the other, there was little doubt which one it was.

The Jackets are 17-35-7, last in the 30-team NHL, and are thinking of trading Rick Nash, Jeff Carter and other veterans for younger NHL players, prospects and draft picks. They are talking about starting over and building for the future, an ownership blueprint that keeps fans of small-market teams everywhere lying awake at night.

At the moment, the small-market Reds are 0-0 and at the other end of the spectrum. The Reds have been in buy mode all winter. They sent prime prospects Yonder Alonso, Brad Boxberger and Yasmani Grandal and starting pitcher Edinson Volquez to the Padres for starting pitcher Mat Latos, who will slide into the No.2 spot in the rotation behind Johnny Cueto. They traded pitcher Travis Wood and outfielder Dave Sappelt, both 25, and minor-leaguer Ronald Torreyes to the Cubs for left-handed setup man Sean Marshall. They signed former Phillies closer Ryan Madson for $8.This is often not canada goose jacket discount can be cool and even brilliant.5 million and veteran outfielder Ryan Ludwick for $2.5 million, both on one-year contracts.

It's clear the Reds want to win now — not three years from now. And because of their additions and the losses suffered by the St. Louis Cardinals (Albert Pujols) and Milwaukee Brewers (Prince Fielder and maybe Ryan Braun), a lot of people think they will. Pitchers and catchers reported to spring camp on Sunday, and there might be even more optimism about this team than last year's, which was coming off Cincinnati's first playoff appearance in 15 years.

The Reds' third-place finish last season shows how baseless such optimism can be, but instead of taking that 79-83 finish as a reason for despair, general manager Walt Jocketty and owner Bob Castellini aggressively charged ahead. What they are doing could be viewed as a lesson in sports marketing.

There have been reports about how Cincinnati will eventually have to trade 2010 National League MVP Joey Votto before his contract is up at the end of the 2013 season because they won't be able to afford him. There was even some speculation that they would do it this winter — reports the Reds steadfastly denied — to make room for Alonso and maximize what they could get in return.

Castellini said the team intends to try to sign Votto — of course it does — but the Reds at least view his likely departure as a timeline on their window of opportunity to get to the World Series. It at least partially explains why they have tried to patch the team's holes and win now, even if it means giving up some young players they might wish they had in five years.

It is a good strategy. To some owners' chagrin, today's fans are pretty bright. They realize that there are plenty of free agents out there every year and that a sharp general manager can make a few savvy trades and smart buys and turn a team around in a hurry. It might be preferable to develop your own prospects and build through the draft, but it can be done the other way, too.

No one wants to start over. Most fans would rather have a reason to hope and end up disappointed than start a season with no hope at all. They would almost always trade possible success three years from now for possible success now.

Reds manager Dusty Baker has managed teams in both situations, which is why he was smiling when the first wave of players rolled in on Sunday.

"Nothing is better than when you know you've got some good troops," Baker said.

And nothing is worse than starting a season with "troops" that you know have no chance to reach the postseason.

FASHION COUP: NYC turns on the style

Feather-light layers of organza and chiffon spilling over Bermuda shorts?

It sounds like an odd combination, but Vera Wang pulled it off with panache at New York fashion week on Tuesday.

Wang, a native New Yorker whose wedding gowns are coveted by brides-to-be, celebrated the polar opposites of yin and yang with a structured yet feminine collection of ready-to-wear looks for next fall and winter.Every people wants to buy authentic canada goose coat but with best quality.

Her "techno-stretch" Bermuda shorts, resembling cycling shorts to the layman's eye, appeared under light tan Melton wool coats and jackets, tangerine chiffon V-neck gowns, and dark silk cape tops with necks enveloped in raccoon.

Backstage, Wang cited Gothic cathedrals as a design influence when she described how decorative elements had been carefully cut as part of each garment rather than just being "slapped on" afterwards.

Wang matched each outfit with uncompromisingly chunky platform shoes, while models sported rigid,Every people wants to buy canada goose sale cheap but with best quality. blown-back jetstream hairstyles.

Anybody who saw Marc Jacobs' collection for Louis Vuitton in Paris a year ago could have been excused for having a sense of deja vu at his Marc by Marc Jacobs diffusion-line show at the New York National Guard's Lexington Armory.,cheap canada goose generally have a custom lanyard at the lace of collar,

Jacobs topped many of his outfits for men and women with bell-captain hats, and put handbags in the hands of several of his models.

But in lieu of brazen sexuality, he tipped more towards a teasing prudishness with pleated plaid dresses and prim white blouses that could have come from the wardrobe of a young New York secretary in the early 1960s.

Geeky black glasses only reinforced the message - but lest it all look too retro, every one of the dozens of looks was shod with boots: biker boots, lace-up boots,,canada goose jacket discount are publicly considered as one of the best bodies warmer to keep warm in cold weather days.,canada goose winter jackets have always been on the priority list of males. buckle boots, mostly in black but sometimes in burgundy.

Short 'n' Sweet

The first show of the first day, saw an awe-inspiring collection by the designer-duo Shantanu & Nikhil. Their autumn/winter garments under the title of S&N Drape, comprised well-fitted silhouettes, with drapes.

According to Shantanu, the clothes had been inspired by Indian culture.

"I tried to blend ethnic wear with western outfits. I sort of gave saris a western look. I shortened them. And you also see the fitted blouse, draped with a pallu almost similar to the sari.

He added, "Other creations include evening gowns and short dresses with elegant shoulder jackets. All pieces are both feminine and gorgeous. "Representing the confident contemporary woman."

He added that Nikhil and he always make sure to create a dress that is comfortable to wear and easy to carry off.

If we talk about the colours and embroideries, Nikhil informed, "The collection is mainly inspired by vintage tones. We have used shades of black, gray, reds and off white.

"We haven't, embellished attires with heavy semi-precious stones, but kept it simple and sophisticated."

Fabrics used are mostly georgettes, linens, chiffons, net and cotton. The duo are planning to go green, and will experiment with cotton and linen. Prices for their dresses are Rs 50,000-5 lakh.

Unlike past seasons, this inaugural event featured many people including celebs and socialites like Dia Mirza, Sameera Reddy, Jai Arora and Tanisha Mohan.

Vineet said, "The designs and patterns are inspired by 60s silhouettes. I think patterns like blocks, polka dots and floral prints never go out of fashion. The collection titled Matador Chic, had been inspired by16th century Spanish courts.

"I don't think many designers used Matador jackets with gowns or skirts. It's a lovely combination," Preeti said. Adding, "The jackets were stitched using fabrics like pure silk and embellished with jewels. I mostly used gold."

Chandra said that she did a lot of embroidery, because she had felt that people are moving towards dresses with threadwork and lesser embroidery. "Kings and queens used to wear clothes embellished with gold embroidery. They are both classy,If you want to buy jacket, authentic ralph lauren polo is the best choice. and timeless."

In most of her collections, Preeti has used shades like fawn and carbon black with gold embroidery. Her fitted silhouettes would suit cocktail evenings. Or pre and post wedding functions.

Winter Strikes Back With a Punch!

Did anyone catch a glimpse of the Snow Moon last night? Well, if you happened to miss it, you might still have a chance tonigh -- that all depends on the skies clearing out before bedtime.

What is the Snow Moon? The name was originated by the Algonquin Native Americans, who traditionally called it the Snow Moon because heavy snowfalls typically occur in the northern regions this month. Every month has a peculiar name for the full moon, but this one is special for its unique brightness.

As for today, clouds will start to thicken as a weak system from the southwest approaches the region. The afternoon commute might be dangerous because of reduced visibility.

The snow, which might be slightly mixed with some rain early, is expected to start after 3 p.m. Temperatures will quickly drop, so the mix will quickly change over to all snow. The snow may be slightly moderate between 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.There are tons of canada goose jacket discount around nys. Total snowfall amounts will be a coating to an inch.

Thursday will be contrastingly different, as abundant amounts of sunshine will take over the area with temperatures in the low- to mid-40s.

Friday will be similar with a few passing clouds and temperatures in the mid-40s. Clouds will increase overnight as an Arctic cold front approaches from the northwest. Temperatures will be in the low 30s.

Saturday is the day your thick jackets come back out of the closet. As the Arctic cold front hits the region, temperatures will start dropping; the high temperature for the day will occur in the morning. A few flurries are possible with this front. By the afternoon, temperatures could be in the mid-20s.

This winter will definitely go into the books as one of the trickiest. As for a long term outlook, do not expect winter to give up so soon.

As a matter of fact, winter might be arriving two months late.

Benefit fur sale set for the weekend

Looking to stay warm this winter while helping others stay warm?

Staten Island Furrier, Frank Siller, will hold its eighth annual benefit Fur Sale Feb. 24-26 at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, 40 Old Mill Rd.There are tons of canada goose jacket discount around nys. at the bottom of Snake Hill in Richmond.

"Those seeking to help the community while staying fashionably warm, can purchase gently used furs at unbelievable prices. All the coats and jackets are pre-owned, trade-ins accumulated over the past year. Rather than sell them to a wholesaler, I thought this (sale) would serve a better purpose for the community," Siller said.

Chair of the "Let Us Do Good Children's Foundation," Siller and his family established the foundation in tribute to the heroic life and death on September 11th of his brother, Firefighter, Stephen Siller. Proceeds from the sale will support the work of the Foundation and Project Hospitality, which serves the homeless and hungry of Staten Island.

Reverend Terry Troia, Executive Director of Project Hospitality, said that it's a great opportunity for Staten Islanders to help out other this winter.

"I hope that people will be generous too, knowing that the money raised is going to charity. It's marvelous beyond words. When someone buys -- at a very reasonable cost -- a fur coat to keep themselves warm, they will keep a fellow Staten Islander warm too, and help Project Hospitality provide very much needed food and shelter."

Methodist church plans Four Chaplains service

The worship at 10:45 a.m. Sunday at Central United Methodist Church on School Street will host a Four Chaplains Day service by the American Legion. This moving ceremony honors four Army chaplains who died after giving their life jackets to fellow soldiers on Feb. 3, 1943, when the USAT Dorchester sank after being torpedoed.

The chaplains were a Methodist minister, a rabbi, a Catholic priest, and a pastor from the Reformed Church in America. The four were posthumously awarded the Purple Heart, Distinguished Service Cross, and the Chaplain's Medal for Heroism.

The youth groups will not meet this Sunday. They donated $140 from funds raised to support the Heifer Project by buying a sheep and a flock of chicks to help a poor family become more self-sustaining.

In addition to the United Methodist Women's meeting on Feb. 8, various groups in the church plan a Souper Supper fundraiser, a family game night, a family movie night showing Soul Surfer on Feb. 23, a 24-hour famine, and a summer congregation campout.

Methodists are invited to join Bishop Weaver and others from the New England Conference for workshops: Nurturing Passionate Spirituality: "No longer my own, but Thine." Contact Pastor Ernest Farrar to register for this and other workshops from 9 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 8.

Two 10-Year-Olds Give Up Birthday Presents to Help Others

In a world where there is so much bad that is reported and documented on, I just wanted to give kudos to two kids that truly deserve it.

My daughter, Kate McCrackin, for the past four years has done a community service project each January. Her birthday is January 10, 2012. She turned 10 this year. It started out, that as parents, we suggested since her birthday was so close to Christmas and that she had many blessings to be thankful for, she do something for someone else in lieu of receiving presents for her birthday.

At first, she was a little skeptical,There are tons of canada goose jacket discount around nys. because what kid wants to give up gifts and do something for someone else, right? This is our fourth year now that she has done a "birthday community service project." We have collected food for food banks twice, and last year we collected coats, hats, and mittens for Eve's House, which is located in Lansing, and is the local domestic abuse shelter for women and children.

All three of these community projects have been a great success and have taught Kate valuable lessons in giving to her community. We learned last year that one of the greatest ongoing needs at the shelter is toilet paper. Right away she knew she was going to do this for this year's community service project.

For last year's community project (the coat, hat and mitten drive) a friend joined her. Her name is Carlee Payne. Her birthday is also on January 10. The girls are best of friends at Bath Elementary. This is Carlee's second year in joining our birthday project efforts. This year both girls opted to collect toilet paper in lieu of receiving gifts for their birthdays. What a project it has been.

They both decided to set the goal at 1,000 rolls for the shelter. Not only did they reach their goal, they far exceeded their goal. They collected 1,645 rolls of toilet paper to be delivered to the local shelter. They had a great time doing such a fun project. With the help of their parents and their parents' co-workers, friends, neighbors, teachers, and fellow girl scouts in the community the birthday toilet paper drive was a huge success.

We even received four cases of toilet paper from 3 different people (and total strangers) while we were waiting in the checkout line at Sam's Wholesale, while as a family talking about this project. People were amazed that two 10 year olds would be generous enough with giving up gifts per se for their birthdays. We, as parents, think they have received a far greater gift that will enrich their lives long-term by doing these projects.

Warm winter weather not all bad

Temperatures approached record highs in Bozeman on Saturday as the abnormally warm and snowless winter of 2011-2012 continued.

But for all the consternation it has caused, the warm winter is measured in more than just poor days on the mountain. Just ask those who were outside running, biking or otherwise enjoying the 50-degree weather.

Seventeen folks showed up for the Challenge Dr. Mike Tournament at the Headwaters Golf Course in Three Forks, decked out in baseball caps and light jackets to play 18 holes in a rare January tournament. The biggest challenge presented by the weather was wind,Buying a canada goose parka from seller in another country. said Helen Fouch, the course's pro shop manager.

The course has opened all but about five days this month and has attracted about 175 golfers, Fouch said.

"Last year we would've been closed at this time," Fouch said. "We've been open more days than we've been closed (this month)."

The course doesn't open unless the temperature reaches 35 degrees by 1 p.m. The greens remain closed to protect the grass, with the pins moved to trimmed spots near the greens. It costs $1 per hole to play for nonmembers, Fouch said.

The course will likely be closed for much of next week though, according to the National Weather Service forecast.

Highs are expected to drop into the 20s and high teens for Monday through Wednesday as a cold front moves in before getting into the 40s Thursday and Friday as it passes, said Nick Langlieb, a meteorologist at the NWS Great Falls office. Some snow could dust the valley floor today and during the first half of the week, he said.

"Overall the (weather) pattern is going to become more active for this week, but the really cold push of air isn't going to stick around very long," Langlieb said.

The fewer cold and snowy days might translate into more road maintenance and paving projects in the first half of the summer, said John Van Delinder, superintendent of the city streets department. Hardly any overtime call-outs for snowplowing have been made so far this winter — about 10 overtime hours were worked last month, drastically down from the more than 100 extra hours typically worked in December, he said.

"We want the snow for Bozeman and the skiers. It's part of our heritage," Van Delinder said of the weather. "(But) it's definitely saving on wear and tear on equipment."

It's also saved about 1,000 tons of sand and the warm weather has prevented roads from the typical winter freeze-thaw pattern that creates potholes, he said.

With all those clear roads and paths — at least at lower elevations — runners have been able to get out and roam around, said Adam Behrendt, a trail runner and salesman at the Bozeman Running Company. He said the M, Foothills and Bear Trap Canyon trails are pretty clear and good running for anyone looking to strap on some jogging shoes and pad around.

Commentary: Still waiting for a good dose of winter

While leaving the Jacksonville High School parking lot on the first day back to school after Christmas break, I noticed something that was a little out of the ordinary.

After stepping out of the back doors, students seemed to immediately shed their layers of sweatshirts and jackets and then left in their cars with their windows rolled down and sunroofs open.

This is obviously nothing out of the ordinary, except that it was in the first week of January.

Unless you've been hibernating in your house all winter, you probably noticed the abnormally warm weather that we had early last week. Morgan County even experienced a record high temperature one day. And before Thursday, other than a few light flurries here and there, we have had no snow.

I noticed a surprising number of people still exercising outside, young children playing outside with their friends, couples taking walks, and even the long lines at almost every car wash in town.

While most of the people around me were getting excited because of this warm weather, I was not enjoying it.There are tons of canada goose jacket discount around nys. Usually the spring-like weather would be putting me in an upbeat mood and getting me excited for summer. Unfortunately, summer is five months away. The beautiful weather that we were experiencing makes me dread waiting that long for the laid-back and stress-free atmosphere that summer brings.

The good news came on Thursday; a student in my class posted a status on Facebook saying that Jacksonville was supposed to be receiving 1 to 2 inches of snow.

I got very excited but kept reminding myself that the weather in central Illinois is very unpredictable and that there is still a good chance that we wouldn't be getting any snow after all.

When I woke up Thursday morning I was ecstatic to see the white flurries falling from the sky and see the layer of white fluff covering the ground. I had hopes that it would be a grand snow.

Unfortunately, the snow that we got was minimal and I could not do any of the activities that I love. Every year, I look forward to building snowmen in my front yard, making snow angels, finding a big hill to sled on with my friends, and, of course, wishing for a snow day.

This is still the best time of the year to be snuggled up in my house with hot chocolate and reading a good book or watching a favorite movie with my family. With the warm weather, I felt guilty not being outside doing something productive.

I know that there is still plenty of time in the winter season left to get the snowfall that I am longing for, but I can't help but be impatient.

I can only hope that Mother Nature will be on my side and give us the true winter weather that I have been dying to see.

Brazil Kicks Off Winter Fashion Show

Rio de Janeiro's kicked off its winter fashion week with a hipster, 1980s era clothing by well-known Brazilian designer Alexandre Herchcovitch. There are tons of canada goose jacket discount around nys.

The tone was sober with a utilitarian collection in industrial-strength denims.

For his second line, the cheaper and more youth-focused Herchcovitch label, the designer looked to the proto-hipsters of 1980s-era New York in his show.

Models were sent out in shirtdresses and bustier catsuits in bleach-splattered raw denim. Cropped leather jackets and vests topped off the outfits. They were accessorized with '80-style sunglasses and wedges with translucent plastic heels.

Herchcovitch is among Brazil's best-known designers and shows his premium label in New York.
